
BACKGROUND: David & Lisa Thon
Being siblings, David & Lisa share a lifetime of memories. They were raised in a very close-knit family. It was the kind of household where everyone was encouraged to have an opinion on a wide range of subjects. Meals were always shared together, and fun and laughter remain common place at family gatherings.
The home was a source of many traditions and has come to symbolize some great
teachings that came from family life at the Thon's and binds the family in true
kinship. Central to the teachings were that family came first, and still does,
and that honesty & hard work will provide a foundation for success.
Their parents chose the North Shore as the location for the family home. It
offered the perfect balance of city and rural life. The mountains were at the backdoor
with
a host of natural riches including their own creek just a stones throw from the
yard providing thousands of adventures. For serious shopping or a special dinner
and movie the city excitement was only 10 minutes away over either of the bridges
that both protected and connected them to the city landscape.
The North Shore still offers the special warmth and security of a vibrant small
community yet is only minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown Vancouver.
David & Lisa continue to share a sense of awe for the North Shore's
splendor and it's no surprise that this is where they have settled to raise their
own families and build their careers.
David began his career in real estate in 1991 following a successful career in
the automotive sector and obtained invaluable experience in sales & sales management
for a local dealership, as well as his experience as an owner operator of an auto
detailing business. Lisa joined David in 1993, after completing an Administrative
Studies degree and enjoying a career in marketing. The path was set for success
and selling the North Shore was a natural. "If you work at what you love,
success will follow." The Thons know first hand how central a home can be
to family life and what an important role the community plays.
As business partners David & Lisa appreciate the importance of balancing family harmony, personal well-being and business prosperity. helps get work done. "We know each other so intimately, we can be efficient and
cut right to the chase. We each clearly understand our roles and there's a strong
bond that comes from the energy of building an exciting business together."
Lisa adds, "A family business is still a business, and we plan every detail
of our work and every detail of each transaction because we know the smallest details
make the biggest difference of all." The success of any real estate transaction

Although most often their leisure time is spent apart, family gatherings remain central to David & Lisa. On his days off, David will often be found with his wife and boys golfing or biking at Black Mountain Ranch or enjoying the wonderful activities and sights up Grouse Mountain. Lisa is more likely to be found taking the dog for a hike with her husband and girls in the trails around the canyon, or strolling the seawall before grabbing a burger at the beach.
